On February 12, the international Safer Internet Day, ARC Fund as coordinator of the national SID events, organized and awarding ceremony for the best projects of Bulgarian school-children participating at the pan-European online competition among schools “Life online is what YOU make of IT”.
Children from schools in all around Bulgaria presented 16 multimedia projects for participation at the pan-European competition. A national jury including representatives of the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Agency for Child Protection and the State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications pre-selected 3 of the projects – 1 per age group – for participation at the pan-European final competition.
Though none of them was among the European winners, the 3 pre-selected projects and 3 runner-up projects were nominated for national awards.
At the ceremony the national winners were awarded certificates of excellence and prizes in the presence of representatives of the Public Council for Safer Internet, the Ministry of Education and Science, the State Agency for Child Protection and the media.
The Chairman of the State Agency for Information Technologies and Communications Mr. Plamen Vachkov congratulated the children and their teachers and wished them further success in applying the information and communication technologies in their education and lives.
