Innovations: European, National and Regional Policies

On 15 July 2008 ARC Fund organized a presentation of its latest publication Innovations: European, National and Regional Policies. The Ambassador of Germany to Bulgaria H.E. Mr. Michael Geier, and the Bulgarian Minister of Finance, Mr. Plamen Oresharski were guests of honour at the presentation of the book. The organization of the event and publication of the book were made possible with the support of the Friedrich Ebert Foundation.

The book is the second volume of the first in its kind collection of theory and practice texts on innovation and economic development. ARC Fund published the first book Innovation: Policy and Practice in 2004.

The second book analyzes innovation developments in Bulgaria. At the same time it focuses on the innovations’ practical aspects on firm level and regards the issue in the context of Bulgaria’s EU accession. Many foreign authors participated in the elaboration of the book, as well as Bulgarian authors from universities, the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, NGOs and industrial associations. The book reviews the globalization process, modern models for knowledge and technology transfer, partnerships between science, business and Governments. The authors analyze the innovation policy of the European Union, its financial instruments and the opportunities they present. The book also discusses some good practices of Bulgarian and international companies.
