The primary aim of the Information Day, held on 15 February 2006, was to help researchers from new member states and candidate countries build consortia and prepare and submit successful proposals for the open IST calls of the Sixth Framework Programme. Proposals under this calls relate to the following objectives:
- Advanced robotics
- Ambient assisted living (AAL) in the ageing society
- Search Engines for Audio-Visual Content
- Accompanying actions in support of participation in Community ICT research
- International Co-operation
The Bulgarian researchers, who participated, were Mr. Todor Yalamov, Coordinator, IT Group, ARC Fund; Ms. Daniela Stoineva, Consultant, URSIT Ltd; Mr. Marian Draganov, Sales Manager, SCIANT and Dr. Irina Zheliazkova, Department of Computer Systems and Technologies, University of Rousse. They presented the activities of their institutes and organizations. The event also attended the commercial attache Ms. Liana Uzunova from the Trade and Economic Office – Budapest. On 16 February 2006 brokerage meetings were held to help build potential partnerships and facilitate proposals elaboration.
