ARC Fund’s technology brokerage unit – the Innovation Relay Centre (IRC) Bulgaria, together with Deutsch-Bulgarische Gesellschaft Sachsen-Anhalt, co-organized a Technology Brokerage Event for companies in the machine-building industry during the International Technical Fair 2004 in the city of Plovdiv.
The two-day brokerage event, which took place on 28-29 September 2004, offered the participating company representatives, research and technology (RTD) organisations and experts unique opportunities to meet and establish cross-border contacts with a diverse range of European companies. The objective of this networking was to foster Transnational Technology Transfer (TTT) agreements and technological co-operation, to encourage establishing start-up companiesр as well as to inspire and initiate joint participation in European RTD projects and future collaboration. This was a great opportunity for researchers to investigate the potential of commercial exploitation for products and technologies in the development stage.
The main thematic areas covered during the event were:
– Machine Building and Tools
– Heavy Machine Building
– Mechanics, Hydraulics and Pneumatics
– Moulding and Forming
– Environmental aspects of Machine Building.
A total of 48 companies participated in the event, of which 15 Bulgarian, 19 German, 4 Greek, 9 Turkish and 1 Romanian. A catalogue with 54 technology profiles was published (18 Bulgarian, 21 German, 5 Greek, 5 Turkish and 5 Romanian). The Bulgarian organisations participating in the event expressed their satisfaction with the valuable contacts they had established during the event which, according to their opinion, could lead to positive future collaborations.
