On April 11, 2006, ARC Fund organized a Wider Consultancy Workshop in Blagoevgrad in the framework of the RIS BRIDGE initiative for development of Regional Innovation Strategy for the South West Region of Bulgaria.
The workshop aimed at presenting to a wider audience of regional stakeholders the draft version of the analytical report on the regional economy and innovation system developed by experts from the Center for the Study of Democracy and ARC Fund. Representatives of the municipalities in the towns of Blagoevgrad, Petrich, Sandanski, the regional governor’s administration of Blagoevgrad, the South West University “Neofit Rilski”, the Institute of Agriculture in Kjustendil, EuroInfoCentre – Sandanski and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry –Blagoevgrad presented their comments and recommendations for enriching the regional analyses with more specific data and made suggestions on which provisional priority sectors at municipalities’ level could be subject to further in-depth analysis from the innovation perspective.
