On 25 February and 18 March ARC Fund organised Information days on Framework Programme 7 of the European Commission in Sofia and Plovdiv which attracted more than 80 representatives of around 70 companies, research and academic centres. The event was entitled ‘How to participate in Framework Programme 7 of the European Commission’ and was held under the Mediatrans project of ARC Fund.
Mrs. Emilia Domuschieva, project co-ordinator in ARC Fund, informed the participants about the ICT Proposers’ Day in Budapest organised on 22 January by the European Commission’s Information Society and Media Directorate-General, in cooperation with the Hungarian National Office for Research and Technology.
Mrs. Domuschieva made a detailed presentation of the FP7 programmes and instruments: collaborative projects, co-ordination/support actions, research for SMEs. She presented also the procedures and documents needed for submitting a project proposal to the European Commission, how the EPSS system for online submission works and the steps from identifying an appropriate call to signing a contract with the EC.
The participants asked many specific questions concerning not only the project submission procedures but also about project management tools and financial conditions.
Mr. Georgi Apostolov, co-ordinator of the Mediatrans project, presented the main idea of the project to assist media SMEs in meeting the challenges of a fast developing and highly competitive market in order to preserve the media variety in Europe. He invited all present companies and researchers to fill in their profiles on the project website / partner matching platform and post there any project ideas they may have for financing under the FP7.
