The Hellenic Center for Investment (ELKE),the New Economy Development Fund (TANEO) the Innovation Relay Centre HELP-FORWARD , and IRC – Bulgaria, with the cooperation of the Hellenic Venture Capital Association, invited entrepreneurs and researchers with ambitious and innovative business plans to participate in bilateral business meetings with Greek and international Venture Capital firms during the 6th International Venture Capital Forum. The event took place under the auspices of the Greek Ministry of Economy and Finance on 14-15 June 2005 in Athens.
The 6th International Venture Capital Forum was a unique two-day event dedicated to raising financing for ambitious and dynamic entrepreneurs, business-oriented researchers and new technology-based firms in Southeast Europe. The event also provided a forum for institutional and other investment professionals to meet with policy makers, entrepreneurs, academics and researchers for an open exchange of views and ideas.
The 6th International VC Forum was based on the experience and momentum built by the previous five events. It is now the largest international private equity forum in Southeast Europe.
Targeted participants included:
• Entrepreneurs from Greece, Bulgaria, Cyprus, FYROM, Israel, Romania, Turkey, Serbia-Montenegro, as well as from any party interested in doing business in Southeast Europe;
• Business-oriented researchers aiming at raising funds for the commercial exploitation of their RTD results;
• Top managers from already operating and outperforming technology companies;
• Investors from leading venture capital funds all over Europe;
• Policy makers from national, regional and European institutions.
