On April 15, 2026, the historic headquarters of Istituto Nazionale per l’Assicurazione contro gli Infortuni sul Lavoro (INAIL) in Rome hosted a meeting of the Synclusive research partners. The session focused on consolidating findings from the initiative’s living labs to date, identifying key similarities and differences across contexts, and further refining the Realist Evaluation approach guiding the research.
During the meeting, partners shared updates on the progress of quantitative fieldwork, highlighting both achievements and ongoing challenges related to data collection and aggregation. The discussion also addressed methodological considerations, including panel data strategies and approaches to group comparison for the forthcoming quantitative analysis.
In addition, participants explored the need for and feasibility of collecting new qualitative data at both coalition and individual levels. Research teams from Bulgaria, Finland, Netherlands, and Portugal presented emerging insights and preliminary observations from their respective living labs. These contributions focused on contextual factors, intervention mechanisms, and observed outcomes, supporting further refinement of the programme theory.
The meeting also examined the analytical potential of Hofstede’s Cultural Dimensions and considered how this framework could be operationalised within the Realist Evaluation of the living labs.
