On 29-30 June, a training team of the National Safer Internet Centre (SIC )conducted a training of pedagogues from 30 schools in the city of Varna on the “Virtual and Real Violence: Prevention by Interactive Education” course for secondary schools. On March 4-5, another 20 pedagogical councilors were trained.
Both trainings were organized on the invitation and with the support of the Varna Municipality’s Directorates for Prevention and Education.
The school councilors were explained and demonstrated the methodology used by the SIC in the “Virtual and Real Violence Prevention” educational course for secondary schools implemented in 20 schools in Sofia.
At a supervision meeting with the first group of trained pedagogues their experience in implementing the methodology in their schools was discussed as well as the contents of the second volume of the methodology guidebook with 25 new lessons.
The SIC coordinator Georgi Apostolov conducted a 2-hour discussion with the municipality’s peer team. The Mayor of Varna gave official consent to the proposal of SIC to have the peer team as a safer Internet Youth Panel. Two members of the panel participated in an international summer camp in Bran, Rumania, organized by Save the Children Rumania – the country’s safer Internet node.
