The national competition “Innovative Enterprise of the Year” is organized by the Applied Research and Communications Fund, ARC Consulting, Enterprise Europe Network – Bulgaria, with the support of the Directorate General for Internal Market, Industry, Entrepreneurship and SMEs of the European Commission, and in media partnership with the Economy Magazine and the economic portal Economic.bg, Computer World, Kaldata.bg, “Bulgarian Science” magazine, Uspelite.bg, Bulgarian National Radio – Radio Sofia and the portal of Bulgarian industry IndustryInfo.bg.
The finalist companies in the “Innovative Enterprise of the Year”also receive the right to use the label of the Applied Research and Communications Fund – Excellence in Innovation. Finalists will also get the opportunity to reach potential international partners and customers in all economic areas, within the Enterprise Europe Network in over 60 countries.
During the Sixteenth National Innovation Forum, Bulgarian President Rumen Radev honored innovative enterprises in the following areas according to the impact of the innovation:
For “Market Leadership” an honorary statuette and diploma were awarded to Stamh Ltd.
Stamh Ltd. is developing automated warehouse systems for the food, furniture, electrical, chemical, automotive and other industries by first locating the various equipment (racks, pallets, cranes and conveyors) on site, then “enclosing” them with walls on all sides. The warehouse processes are operated without human intervention, only on the basis of specially developed software. The company has more than 4,500 customers in over 20 countries, with each site tailored to the specifics of the customer’s business.
Ondo Solutions Ltd. was awarded an honorary diploma and a statuette in the Innovative Startup category for 2020.
Ondo Solutions is the creator of a smart solution for the automated management of farming activities: precision irrigation, fertiliser application, climate control systems and crop monitoring, suitable for small and medium-sized farms as well as for large arrays. It consists of a hardware device that is installed on the farm and integrated specialised software with remote control and an easy-to-use interface. The company has implemented systems for customers in Bulgaria and North Macedonia, and has opened a representative office in South Africa.
Gamifinno Ltd. was awarded with a diploma for Green Innovation 2020.
Gamifinno Ltd. is developing an interactive notebook that allows erasing and correcting what is written and swapping pages. It consists of 40 sheets and actually replaces over 100 pages. There are 4 versions – with blank sheets, with lines, with dots and with squares. It allows to reduce paper consumption by being produced from recycled plastic, which is also recyclable. Can be replenished with new sheets.
Alegi Engineering Ltd. received an honorary diploma for Quality of Life 2020 category.
Alegi Engineering Ltd. created a mining light-duty auxiliary machine for transporting people, cargo and explosives that allows operation with a higher degree of safety and reliability and a longer service life. It is specifically designed for underground conditions – high humidity, dust, acidity, collapses etc and is the only one in the world with a Euro 5 engine for less emissions in mines. It is maneuverable, with fully electronic controls, a modern design and a user-friendly display.
Evedo Bulgaria Ltd was awarded with an honorary diploma for Innovation in Creative Industries category.
Evedo Bulgaria Ltd. is developing the world’s first one-stop-shop online platform for the event industry. It brings together artists, event organizers, promoters, venues, service companies (catering, stage, lighting, etc.). The platform also includes ticketing and event management functionalities. It is based on blockchain solutions for greater transparency and security in the event industry. Around 1000 events have been held since March.
In the Social Innovation category for 2020, the Central Cooperative Union was awarded with a honorary diploma.
The Central Cooperative Union created a system of mobile services with added social value – for the delivery of food and household necessities and for medical assistance in hard-to-reach and small settlements. The health services are in various fields of medicine, and there are facilities for moving and transporting patients, a pediatric kit, and an ultraviolet germicidal irradiation. The goods are of union or local manufacturers and are offered at a very low markup.
For “Digital Transformation” category an honorary diploma was awarded to Orak – Engineering Ltd.
Orak – Engineering Ltd. is developing a package of services in Bulgarian language for training in a digital environment, which includes: a personal office for receiving technical and methodological support, including a school website, and a conference box for connection between physical and virtual room; a collective virtual space for internal meetings/training with automatic protocol/video log and GDPR-protected repository for electronic documents and materials, and periodic certification of teaching professionals.
For “Innovation Management” Elektrosfera Ltd .was awarded with a diploma.
Elektrosfera Ltd. is the creator of a converter with technology for real-time effects processing and modeling in the music industry. The device is the only one with 64 channels, moreover combined in one place with a minimal interface, and enables the conversion of the analog signal into digital and vice versa. There is also a multi-function touchscreen control that allows operation without a PC connection. The company is distinguished by high quality innovation management processes, including digital processes.
Finalists in the Innovative Enterprise of the Year 2020 Contest:
EntoSinergy Ltd.EntoSynergy breeds and processes crickets for pet food – as a food supplement in the form of flour, bars or chips of whole crickets with different flavors. The products are high in protein. Production is economical and environmentally friendly. The residual product is used as organic fertilizer with very good qualities.
Zero Wave Ltd. develops a 100% biodegradable and compostable disposable plate made from the residual product of the brewing industry (spent malt), resistant to all kinds of food and liquids, to seasoned food with low or high temperature and edible. There are variants in different flavours and sizes. Can be disposed of with ordinary household waste, does not emit methane on decomposition.
ImerseFX LLC is creating a mobile app to serve as a teaching tool for cell science. It displays through augmented reality detailed three-dimensional models of major systems of the human body, virtual surgical incisions for tissue sampling, and electron microscope images at the cellular level. It is based on 3D-modelling to achieve full photo-realism.
Musala Soft Plc is developing an integrated innovation management system: partnerships with schools, universities and communities in the field of information technology to attract young people to this type of professions and industry participation in the creation of curricula and research projects, organization of thematic competitions and Olympiads, a system for recruitment, training, career development and motivation of staff, among others.
Nasekomo Plc organizes green production of high quality sustainable proteins by bioconversion with insects (flies) through automated modular technology, which it sells for the purpose of pet food and fish feed production. The product is hypoallergenic and rapidly digestible. The by-product of tjis production is an organic fertilizer with a high chitin content.
Open Technology Bulgaria Ltd. develops an open source software testing management system based on the improvement of a product created and abandoned by another company. The system is used by programmers for the purpose of developing and testing their own products. At the time of the evaluation there have been over 240,000 real-time downloads worldwide over a period of about 3 years.
Press Start Ltd created a photorealistic 3D visualization platform for virtual staging of event halls without physical attendance. Fully interactive and easy to use, it is aimed at all kinds of users, not just professionals. It offers three view options: floor plan (2D), isometric (3D), and first person (VR). It also allows seamless operation in any browser.
Hydroionics Ltd is developing a line for shredding end-of-life automotive tires to rubber pellets, high quality alloy wire and thread in the form of cotton. The materials can be used as raw material for various productions: rubber flooring, metal billets, insulation material. The line is fully automated and can operate on a 24-hour basis.
