All throughout Europe, people over the age of 50 are becoming an increasingly large section of the population. Nonetheless, they remain confronted with severe and specific challenges, with discrimination in the labour market affecting many people in the “silver” age group. Inadequate access to the labour market, low employee retention, and unfair treatment are only some of the challenges faced by people over 50.
The SYNCLUSIVE initiative seeks to address these issues and make valuable contributions to social justice and equality. Within its framework, ARC Fund participated in a joint event dedicated to advancing equal access to employment for vulnerable groups. The event brought together representatives of NGOs, the private sector, public authorities and active citizens to exchange expertise, research findings and practical solutions.
The session focused on the challenges faced by people over the age of 50 and third-country nationals in accessing and remaining in the labour market, including panel discussions, presentations and an open exchange of ideas aimed at identifying both existing barriers and effective strategies for overcoming them.
ARC Fund presented several crucial findings derived from both extensive research and numerous training events with people over 50, collaborating with the other stakeholders to ensure real contributions to an inclusive and just labour market.
