The top 3 European projects in the field of cyber security will be announced on 14 December in Tallinn, Estonia. All 18 nominated projects will be showcased at the Good Practice Conference, including the National Safer Internet Centre’s CyberScout Training Programme for fifth graders.
The National Center for Safe Internet’s fifth-grade cyber scout training program has been running for three consecutive years with the support of Telenor Bulgaria. It has already trained over 500 students aged 11-12 in over 30 locations across the country.
As part of the programme, Grade 5 students from all over Bulgaria undergo two-day online safety training and pass on the knowledge they have gained to their peers in their role as cyber scouts. Successful cyber scouts receive a certificate and have the opportunity to participate in a competition with trained students from other localities and schools in preparing and conducting peer-oriented activities. CyberScouts can split into troops to run their own initiative if they wish.
