The Bulgarian Helpline went mobile

Having in mind the uptrend in internet use via mobile phone among teenagers as well as the young people’s passion for new technologies the Bulgarian Helpline of the National Safer Internet Centre developed an Android application for smartphones. The application is a file of 9 MB of size and can be downloaded from the Helpline website.

Besides the opportunity to look at the contents of the Helpline website and its Facebook page, the application provides easy one-touch access to the short number 124 123 of the Helpline, the Skype connection with the operators and possibility to compose and send report by email. The application contains also a GPS allowing to memorise current location, specific address and to show on a map the shortest way between two memorised locations.

The graphic tutorial how to use the application can be seen at: http://www.helpline.bg/fileadmin/user_upload/БЛОБтелефон.png.

The Helpline expects that going mobile would give an additional incentive to the teenagers and children to contact the consultants.
