The educational video game Zone of Risk, developed by the Bulgarian Safer Internet Centre, coordinated by ARC Fund, and the partner IT company Web Services, was awarded first place for best web product in the Science and Education Category by the Bulgarian Web Association (BWA) at an official ceremony on June 28. The annual contest Bulgarian Web Awards, organized by BWA, aims to foster professionalism and good practices in the area of web services.
Zone of risk is an online 3-D quest game, which promotes safe and responsible behavior online among teenagers. The game also introduces the services of the Safer Internet Centre in Bulgaria and the options teenagers have when coming across harmful or illegal content and conduct online. The game dialogues are both in sound and text to allow access of children with hearing impairment.
The game has been recognised also by the European network of Awareness Centres Insafe, as it was awarded second place in a network-wide contest for online resources in March.
