On 17 March 2023, meetings of the Innovation Expert Council and the Innovation Business Club of the Applied Research and Communications Fund will be held. These meetings are an independent but complementary part of the Innovation in Agribusiness event programme, a joint initiative of the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University St. Kliment Ohridski, the Applied Research and Communications Fund, CleanTech Bulgaria, and the Professional Association of Robotics and Automation (PARA).
The activities of the Expert Council and the Business Club are an integral part of the preparation of the annual Innovation.bg report – the only comprehensive tool in Bulgaria for assessing the national innovation system and the innovation activity of Bulgarian enterprises.
Innovation Expert Council
In 2003, the Applied Research and Communications Fund established an Innovation Expert Council, composed of representatives of the academic community, the business sector and public administration. The Council provides opinions and recommendations on innovation and research policies and analyses at a national and European level. The Innovation Expert Council discusses the content of the annual Innovation.bg report, which is presented at the National Innovation Forum – the most well-established platform for presenting views and discussions on the innovation potential of the economy and national policy in the field of science, technology and innovation in Bulgaria. The Council contributes to improving the quality of services offered by the Enterprise Europe Network – Bulgaria.
Innovation Business Club
In 2007, at the initiative of the Applied Research and Communications Fund, an Innovation Business Club was established with the participation of representatives of innovative companies in Bulgaria, whose goals and objectives include supporting the development of innovation in Bulgaria and improving technology transfer and cooperation between companies themselves, as well as between them and scientific organizations.
The Innovation Business Club is an initiative of the Applied Research and Communications Fund for cooperation and knowledge exchange among innovative Bulgarian companies. The Club brings together the finalists of the Innovative Enterprise of the Year Competition and the possessors of the Fund’s Excellence in Innovation label. The label distinguishes high-quality and original Bulgarian innovations that have a significant impact on the national and global market, the environment and society.
Between 13 and 17 March 2023 – the week dedicated to innovation in agribusiness – visitors will also have the opportunity to visit an agribusiness innovation exhibition, as well as trainings and workshops related to food management and safety systems, and the role of innovation in the development of the circular and organic economy and how start-ups can benefit from technology.
