The procedure for approval of projects under the eighth session of the National Innovation Fund (NIF) is flawed and should be terminated. The Executive Director of the Bulgarian Small and Medium Enterprises Promotion Agency (BSMEPA), Marieta Zaharieva, will insist on this before the NIF Board.
The reports of violations come from the business side and for this purpose the deputy executive director of the agency and employees who worked on the procedure have been dismissed. The internal requirements and rules for ranking the candidates were not followed. The violations were committed during the change of the three governments. The transfer of the NIF from the agency to the Ministry of Economy is currently under discussion.
