On 23-24 November, within the framework of the conference dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the reestablishment of the Faculty of Economics of Sofia University, the team of the project “Hidden Innovations: Analysis of Research and Innovation Activity Remaining Uncovered by Official Statistics” will present an analysis of the first data of the project. On November 23, Prof. Teodora Georgieva, Senior Expert at the Applied Research and Communications Fund, and Assoc. prof. Daniela Georgieva from the International Business School will comment on the regulatory framework, administrative obstacles, the reasons why companies omit to declare their innovative activities.
The project “Hidden Innovations: an analysis of research and innovation activity that remains uncovered by official statistics” is implemented with financial support of €7,833 provided by Iceland, Liechtenstein and Norway under the EEA Financial Mechanism. The main objective of the project is to investigate the reasons for the non-reporting of data on research and innovation activity of SMEs, and to propose to public authorities measures to address this problem. The project is funded under the Small Initiatives Scheme under Thematic Priority No 1: “Improving Democratic Culture and Civic Awareness” of the Active Citizens Bulgaria Fund under the EEA FM 2014-2021“.
The project lasts for 6 months and the research explores attitudes and possibilities to address the problem of non-submission of data on research activity of enterprises to the National Statistical Institute in the framework of the Annual Financial Statements.
The virtual conference will be conducted in Bulgarian, English and French. Online registration is mandatory.
