“Sofia is among the capitals with the fastest and most intense entrepreneurial activity and venture capital investments in so-called “startups”, said Prof. Teodora Georgieva, a senior expert at the Applied Research and Communications Fund. She specified that innovation leaders in Europe are the Scandinavian countries, Germany, Great Britain. The expert said that while in some countries they have not stopped investing in innovation even during the crisis, “in our country it seems that we still do not want to make such investments”.
In the morning block of Radio Sofia prof. Georgieva, coordinator for the preparation of the annual Innovation.bg report, commented that the global innovation index shows Bulgaria moving forward – towards the 38th place, which – unfortunately – is not due to innovation improvement of the Bulgarian economy.
