In a large-scale European survey, organized and conducted by experts of the Applied Research and Communication Found, regarding the level of digital maturity and the need for innovative training of manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises, the main challenges to the introduction of digital technologies were highlighted, among which are:
- Lack of clear and correctly identified priorities at the European level regarding the real needs of the business;
- Shortage of highly qualified workforce;
- Underestimated amount of investments in the construction of “smart” factories;
- Lack of advanced digital skills among company employees.
Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises and consulting businesses from 30 countries, including EU member states, Turkey, Great Britain and Israel, took part in the survey, conducted in the period April 2023 – July 2023.
The obtained results will support the development of a pan-European platform for the digital transformation of manufacturing small and medium-sized enterprises. In addition to the free expert consultations and training, enterprises can also receive a transformation plan individually created for them.
Any enterprise can request and benefit from free consultancy assistance within the framework of the initiative. Open access to training and consulting services is provided free. For more information, please visit the project’s website.
